I love the Shop at the Bluebird so I was thrilled when I heard they would be working with Micheline Arcier – the pioneer of true aromatherapy – she has always been an advocate of holistic well-being, treating each client as an individual with individual requirements.

My requirements are certainly not unique; over worked, stressed, dull skin, the list could go on, so when I arrived for my appointment on a dreary Wednesday afternoon I couldn’t have been happier when I walked into the luxurious Spa at the Bluebird. Gown, slippers, heated treatment beds and soothing music come as standard here. No pokey little rooms to get changed in, this really does feel like a spa.

I was booked in for the Signature Facial with Sherron my lovely therapist. This treatment is very precise with a specific facial massage to stimulate circulation, improve blood flow and aid lymphatic drainage. Almost like a “work-out” for the face the essential oils are chosen to suit individual needs.

My treatment included the most relaxing facial massage I have ever experienced. It felt like hours had gone by as I lay semi conscious in my cosy treatment bed getting utterly pampered.  The aromas from the oils create a sensory experience –one deep breath and you float off into another world as the firm but soothing movements over your face increase blood flow to the skin and create immediate relaxation.

Hands down this was the best facial I have ever had on two counts, firstly I was incredibly relaxed and secondly, 4 days after the facial I am still getting comments saying how healthy and glowing my skin is which I never normally get at all. As I am writing this review I am pining for those magic hands to be working away on my face and neck, massaging away. It’s not often you get a facial that is as relaxing and effective as this one.
