The launch of the new London EDITION Hotel marks a partnership between EDITION Hotels’ Ian Schrager and Marriott International. It is entirely fitting, therefore, that online magazine NOWNESS have chosen to celebrate the opening by creating a series of five films that look into the concept of collaboration within the art world.

In the fourth film of the series, shot by Johnnie Shand Kydd, Tracey Emin and Harland Miller come together to discuss the part played by collaborations in the world of an artist that can often be quite lonely. Emin comments ‘Rather than a collaboration, I see it more as helping each other out. When I was a younger artist, we all used to do that.’ Emin and Miller also discuss their own collaborations, both with each other and other artist.

In another film in the series, creative consultant and writer Amanda Harlech sits within the grounds of her Shropshire home with fashion designer JW Anderson and talks about how true collaborations develop and what they bring to the world of fashion.

The worlds of music and visual artistry collide in the fifth and final film which sees singer, songwriter and DJ Solange Knowles (sister of Beyonce Knowles) in conversation with Nigerian artist Toyin Odutola, who has exhibited her portraits of Solange in her latest show at Jack Shainman New York.

Each film is available to see now on NOWNESS.
