A documentary about the legendary British band, The Stone Roses, is being released in the UK 5 June. Inspired by their resurrection after 16 years, director Shane Meadows gives access to unseen archived footage and reveals the real-life journeys each band member experienced, as well as insight from fans who attended last year’s Warrington Parr Hall and Heaton Park concerts.

“Making this film, I got to be part of something truly remarkable, the double decade awaited ‘resurrection’ of my all time favourite band, The Stone Roses,” said Meadows. “People say that you can’t recapture your youth, it’ll never be the same second time round etc, but that’s utter rubbish. The Roses were never allowed to reach their peak first time around so as far as I and millions of fans around the world were concerned, with this comeback the Roses could be even greater.”

The film tells of the preparation that went into The Stone Roses’ three record-breaking reunion homecoming gigs at Manchester’s Heaton Park with an audience of 220,000 fans last year. Footage of the of the sold-out gigs is included.

The Manchester originals will be making an appearance at the Manchester premiere of the film they inspired 30 May.

Tickets will be available from 17 April at 9.30 a.m., details of which will be published via www.facebook.com/madeofstonefilm.
