Fudge Lookbook Shoot With Rankin

It’s not every day that you find yourself being shot by Rankin. Yes, you heard correctly, Rankin. One half of the duo that set up the trailblazing Dazed & Confused,  the famed fashion and portrait photographer has captured everyone from Daniel Craig and Madonna to the Queen, lensed too many world-renowned advertising campaigns to recall and currently publishes a number of quarterly fashion magazines., including Hunger. And last week he opened up his North London studio to both myself and the Fudge hair team in order to create the Fudge Look Book.

Throughout the day a flurry of street cast models, celebrities, DJs and personalities made their way into hair and make up where there was a seriously no-holds barred approach to styling to create some amazing looks. Clippers whirred, scissors were wielded and hot saturated colours were painted onto hair, on others,   lengths of hair were curled, straightened and woven with extensions. And never before have I seen such an array of product; mouldable clays, slick gels, volume-boosting mousse.

I put my hair in the very capable hands of Callam Warrington, who, overseen by Fudge Creative Director John Vial, took the painstaking task of tonging my hair before pinning each section up to cool and set into big, BIG bouncy curls. Moving into make up, artist Adam de Cruz’s team gave me sleek black eyeliner flicks and a sweep of cheek-bone enhancing bronzer. And then it was time to shoot. An amazing experience. Despite a studio packed to bursting with photography and production teams, assistants and prs, Rankin made me feel completely at ease in front of the lens.

And above is the final pic, which I love!
