Lorraine Pascale

The autumn/winter list of TV shows that will be premiering and reappearing on BBC Two has been released, and we found one delightful treat among them. On Baking Made Easy, food meets fashion in the kitchen as former supermodel turned chef Lorraine Pascale shows off her culinary skills.

In 1997, she gave birth to her daughter, Ella. Coming into the new millennium she pursued other professional ventures outside of modelling, but it wasn’t until 2005 that Lorraine found what she had been looking for. She enrolled in Leiths School of Food and Wine and fell in love with the culinary arts.

During the 1990s, Lorraine was one of the most successful fashion models in the world. She quickly rose to the top after being discovered at age 16 and went on to become the face of Versace and Donna Karan. She sashayed down New York runways, modelled alongside the likes of Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, and became the first British black model to appear on the cover of American Elle

Lorraine followed her patisserie passion and opened Ella’s Bakehouse, located in Covent Garden, four years later. At 37 years old, her background in the fashion industry can still be seen as an inspiration for her cake creations. Some of her featured tasty morsels include couture cupcakes, regular cupcakes, mini cupcakes and large cakes, all of which are full of fashion and available in a variety of flavours.

From catwalk to cake shop, former runway model Lorraine Pascale should be a delightful new TV talent to watch on Baking Made Easy
