Bring Back British Lunch Break

Bring Back British Lunch Break

Sometimes a weird pairing can be a good thing and here’s one for you. Gizzi Erskine, as in food, and Monster Jobs, as in the employment website, have teamed up to launch a new campaign “Bring Back Britain’s Lunch Hour” and I’m all for it.

We Brits are rubbish at lunch hours; a recent survey showed 19% of us take under 15 minutes for lunch and over 10% never take a lunch break at all. As I am writing this I am in Mexico, where 2 hours in for lunch is minimum! OK so let’s not jump the gun, but try and aim for an hour. I bet that’s even in your contract…

Gizzi has devised some delicious recipes to help you enjoy your lunch break to its full potential. Her recipes include; Pancetta, faro and bean soup; Courgette, goats cheese and toasted pinenut tart; Smoked salmon, avocado and brie on rye and Rare roast beef with crushed potato salad with horseradish, radish, watercress and roasted tomatoes.

Go on, give them a try and get out of the office for your full hour. You know it will be better than the normal chicken sandwich and facebook!
