Coffee at Gelupo

Bicerin at Gelupo

by John Gregory Smith

Last week I met my lovely book editor Grace to discuss plans for my next book. I was completely over excited about brainstorming my new concept and didn’t pay a huge amount of attention to our chosen venue. However, I arrived at Gelupo Soho, opposite (and owned by) the lovely Bocca di Lupo, and promptly forgot the basis of out meeting, concentrating on their coffees instead.

Gelupo Soho is basically a place of amazingness – real Italian coffee, home made gelatos and a few delicious store cupboard essentials. The coffee’s are fantastic – their Americano came as a double espresso with hot water on the side, to get the strength just right. They also do an amazingly naughty hot drink called a Bicerin, which is a combination of espresso, drinking chocolate and cream, layered in a small glass!
