Fulham’s Newest Private Member Club

The words Private Members Club might well conjure images of sordid nights around a pole, but they shouldn’t. There are Private Members Clubs dotted all over London; Soho House, Shoreditch House and Home House to name a few and what they offer is a far cry from Spearmint Rhino! Instead they offer their member exclusive access to their luxury facilities and even more access to a wider base of amenities, only available to members… and one is about to open up shop in Fulham!
Broadway House is set to be Fulham’s newest Member’s club promising to be ‘a home away from home where members can relax, eat, drink, socialise with like-minded local individuals and make use of the many facilities available day or night’. Now, it’s not even completed yet but I nipped down to take a tour last week and the 5000ft space is set to be seriously impressive. There will be a great area to relax, bar and two amazing roof terraces, perfect for members and their parties. Plus, members will also have access to the amazing restaurant downstairs (there are actually two, one Bar and Grill on the ground floor and another fine dining restaurant on the first floor, Brasa). During my tour of the new Member’s Club I had the pleasure of eating at Brasa and it’s officially my new favourite restaurant in Fulham. Anywhere that can convince me to eat Eel and like it, deserves a medal!
After a quick Gin & Tonic at the bar, my companion and I sat down for dinner and were treated to an absolute feast. We started with a Sardine dish and (under recommendation from the lovely owner, Brenhan Magee) Smoked Eel and although both were lovely, the smoked Eel was absolutely divine. We then moved onto a succulent 10oz Barnsley Chop and lovely Seared Swordfish which were both deliious, however the best thing about them was the way in which they were served. The main ingredient is served on its own grill platter, with all the extra served separately so you can pick and choose what you have on your main plate as you go!
Once we’d moved on to dessert, we definitely should have said no after our huge starters and mains, but after we’d be tempted by the menu we decided to taste not two but three of the desserts, again under recommendation (of course!). We opted for a Gooseberry Fool, Lemon Posset and Chocolate Brownie and with such picky testers as my companion and I, all three ranked very highly indeed!
I’m very much looking forward to returning to Brasa once a few more people have discovered it, as with a full restaurant, the venue would be buzzing! The decor is very slick and is set to continue through to Broadway House upstairs, which is hopefully set to open mid-August.
Membership for Broadway House is £300, however if you want to pre-register, membership is only £150 (with the extra £150 put behind the bar to spend as you wish). If you’re interested, pop down for a drink at Brasa and ask to check out the venue, it’ll be worth your while I promise!
