For all the obsessed Tweeters out there, check this out. Justin Halpern, 29, of San Diego has just changed his life thanks to his Twitter page, titled “S— My Dad Says.” On his page he records the hilarious and often off-colour ramblings of his 73-year-old father.

Halpern started the page after moving back in with his parents earlier this year. The quotes seem to cover all sorts of life lessons, little bits of wisdom from a, erm, caring and concerned parent: “Son, no one gives a s— about all the things your cell phone does. You didn’t invent it, you just bought it. Anybody can do that.”

Now Halpern is set to break into the entertainment world with both a book deal and a contract from CBS for a pilot sitcom. David Kohan and Max Mutchnick—the creators of Will & Grace—are lined up to produce the show about a curmudgeonly, foul-mouthed grandfather and his family.

While other blogs and websites have warranted their own book adaptations in the past—including the hits Rules for My Unborn Son and Stuff White People Like—this is believed to be the first Twitter-to-book-to-sitcom success! See, such obsessions can pay off after all.
