Covent Garden is getting a massive facelift. Gone are the strange jobbing actors who paint themselves silver and stand on a boxes all day and taking their place is the most shiny new Apple store, Burberry Brit, the uber cool new york restaurant, Balthazar (opening later this year) and our favourites… the Parisian patisserie, Ladurée’s new macaroon boutique and the Icecreamists’ new parlour
Parisian patisserie Ladurée’s first stand-alone tea salon has been modelled on a bijou Parisian residence. The macaroon boutique includes a range of beautiful rooms and spaces including an artist studio, traveller’s tea room, guild panelled bar and two outdoor terraces on the Piazza where you can enjoy their world famous macaroons, as well as savoury treats.

Then we have London ice-cream innovators, The Icecreamists, will launch a new flagship store in Covent Garden Market Building in May. Taking inspiration from pop culture and using the brands’ signature neon pink and black colour theme, the store will feature a brand new menu, exclusive to the new location, featuring treats such as The Toast Mortem – ice cream on toast served in new jet black cones.
