Stowells Light

Stowells Light

Piling on the calories is one of the hazards of celebrating. All the food, the wine, the bowls of sweets and the thought that you can over-indulge because it’s a celebration doesn’t encourage you to take it a bit easy. So the pounds will easily slip on without you knowing it – until you try to get you’re your LBD that is! Stowells know this, they’ve been in the wine merchant business for over 130 years so know a thing or two about what we all like and don’t like, so they’ve added a couple of brilliant wines to help you be a little bit good for Christmas and beyond.

Stowells Light comes in either rose or white and Stowells have gone the extra mile to ensure that giving up calories and alcohol units doesn’t mean you lose out on taste or quality. Each glass is 30 per cent less calorific than a normal 125ml glass of wine as it contains just 60 calories. There is also less than one unit of alcohol in that 125ml glass as it’s only 5.5 per cent proof (unlike most wines which can come in at a hefty 11.5% and above).

The Stowells Light Shiraz Rose has a real taste of cherry, raspberry and strawberry and is slightly sweet with a dry bite to it. The Stowells Light White is a blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc again with a hint of sweetness and the flavours of pear, melon and  apricot.

Stowells Light is £5.49 and is available from all ASDA stores nationwide.

Please be drink aware and drink sensibly, the government guidelines are 2-3 units per day for women and 3-4 units for men.
