The Real Greek

The Real Greek is a cool restaurant chain which started out life in Hoxton and has now expanded to Marylebone, Covent Garden, Spitalfields, Putney, Bankside and Westfield. They do lovely Greek mezze, Souvlaki (kebabs) and fantastic fresh salads.

The Real Greek has decided to offer a calorie count for every dish so you can see exactly what you’re eating and make an informed choice about what you want.

Here are a few examples of what’s involved:

Mezze: crudités are only 37kcal, tzatziki 146kcal and the melitzanosalata, a blend of smoked aubergines, garlic, shallots and lemon) is only 210kcal.

Souvlaki, a lovely Greek Kebab with flat bread and salad: Halloumi and vegetable is just 402kcal and the chicken a mere 480kcal.

This type of food is naturally very tasty, fresh and healthy, there’s a reason why people in the Med live for ages. With that in mind, and summer eating on the cards, I know where I’ll be headed this weekend.
