Millione, the charitable wine

Millione is a new sparkling wine with a big conscience. The sparkling Italian Frizzante donates £1 from every bottle to go towards building community-run primary schools in Sierra Leone, West Africa.

Millione has been created by three mates, Jerry Lockspeiser, Mike Paul and Cliff Roberson, who have spent their lives working in the wine industry.  They established the not-for-profit Millione Foundation and their aim is to sell one million bottles to raise £1 million. With that, 20 new schools will be built to educate 10,000 children a year for years to come.

The amazing idea of Millione has attracted some celeb followers who are backing the launch including Emma Thompson, Stephen Fry and Jack Dee.

Emma Thompson commented on the wine: “Oh that‘s lovely… full of hope and joy and that’s the best taste I’ve ever tasted in a wine.”

The wine has been stocked by everyone from Laithwaites Wines to Sainsburys, Waitrose and Tesco priced £7.99
