A Cut Above (Part 2)

Taylor Taylor Salon

Gold Buddha Room

I’ve kept my thick, dark hair long for years and my addiction to straightening means that my main objective when getting my hair cut is getting my split ends snipped off and the layers round my face tidied up, so I’m hardly the most challenging customer. Nothing’s worse than an over-eager stylist keen to give me a makeover but David totally understood my needs, quickly seeing off my split ends and reinstating my layers while recommending certain products without ramming them down my throat.

David took his time to get my layers just right – asking me to stand up to ensure my thick long hair was evenly trimmed (so many hairdressers don’t bother doing this) before blow-drying my hair to a poker-straight finish.

Taylor Taylor is everything I expect from a hair salon and more. The décor’s fabulous, the prices are refreshingly purse-friendly and there’s a real emphasis on customer satisfaction – whether you’re stopping by for a monthly trim or going for something slightly more radical.

Oh, and the cupcakes are pretty good too.

A ladies’ cut and blow-dry at Taylor Taylor starts at £39 with gents’ haircuts starting at £29
