Nails are the talk of the town in East London as the Nailphilia Exhibition opens and shows the visual masterpieces that nail technicians and artists have created.
The show, curated by DegreeArt.com has said to tap into this booming business, after realising the popularity of nail couture on and off the runway that gives little to no recognition to the actual artist. Featured nail technicians include; Sam Biddle, Antony Buckley, Sophie Hanson, Jenny Longworth, Sue Marsh, Megumi Mizuno, Marian Newman, Mike Pocock, Sophy Robson and The Illustrated Nail.
Furthermore there are contributors including; Nick Knight’s SHOWstudio, Minx, Cheap Monday’s Nail Jewelry, NYC’s , Kirsty Meakin and Andrea Fulerton.
“We wanted to celebrate the often overlooked artform that is nail art and put together an exhibition that has never been done before” said IsNails are the talk of the town in East London as the Nailphilia Exhibition opensobel Beauchamp, director of DegreeArt.com.
Not only are nail designs on display, but also photography, fashion, film and print are included in the installation.
