Allure: Best of Beauty

My favourite US beauty magazine is without a doubt Allure, I’ve been a fan for 2 decades. A bible for the beauty-obsessed, or even those merely interested in makeup, the hotly anticipated 14th annual Best of Beauty issue has arrived, with gorgeous Blake Lively on the cover. During the months of testing, one Allure editor tested shampoos, conditioners, cleansers, scrubs with make up lining up on her shelves.

“Even though we consult experts and test, research, and report on new products in every issue, for Best of Beauty we break it down and compare them to bring readers the products that can solve problems, save money, make them feel better, or just make life easier.”  Here’s a sneak peek at what they’ve uncovered this year.

Cheap Thrills: 31 products, all $9 or less. And they’re not just bargains for bargains’ sake. They’ve passed our intense testing process. They are the real deal.
Here’s a sampling of this year’s fantastic products:
Best Mascara (Lengthening): Cover Girl LashBlast Length Mascara. Its skinny brush, elasta-nylon formula, and plastic bristles allow this mascara to grip and elongate every last lash.
Best Pink Lipstick: Dolce and Gabbana Lipstick in Charm. It’s rich and creamy, in a dewy rose shade that’s all grown up.
Best Anti-Aging Treatment for Wrinkles: RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Night Cream. The wrinkle fighter all skin docs champion is retinol; this is the product they all recommend.
Best Self-Tanner: St. Tropez Everyday Gradual Tan Mousse. It spreads easily, dries in ten seconds, leaves no streaks, and takes you to golden brown in a few days.
