I suppose I was attracted to the name Antipodes because some neurological pathway in my brain equates New Zealand with Air New Zealand, the most wonderful airline in the world. Comfort, luxury and efficiency.
It was that simple really. New Zealand has a great airline, therefore it has great creams… Well of course not necessarily, but I couldn’t resist the Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream that has been found to boost collagen production by 92 per cent and has won numerous awards.
It comes in a green and white package and inside a little brown jar that says planty, natural, wholesome, healthy. It contains native New Zealand Manuka honey, which I already know works very well with my skin in a healing way.
It also contains something called Vinanza Grape, which is a potent anti-oxidant extract from Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc grape seeds to help neutralise free radical damage. Imagine, Sauvignon Blanc is good for your skin. The texture is fluffy and instantly plumping. It makes your skin look rested.
I’ve also enjoyed a serum called Apostle, which is a skin brightening sun damage diminisher, which has been scientifically proven to reduce the appearance of sunspots and freckles.
They have other exciting products like Lime Leaf Cocoa Butter Lip Balm and a Manuka Honey Mask, which I can’t wait to try.
I’m told Elle Macpherson and Evangeline Lilly are devotees, but who wouldn’t be. This is a premium organic skincare brand with many heroes in its range.
Antipodes available at Selfridges, Harrods and Whole Foods, Antipodesnature.com.
