Winner of the Covent Garden Fashion Fringe Award and former St. Martin’s student, Eun Jeong, presented for the second time at London Fashion Week for her White Reverse collection.  The trend for the collection was ethereal white and so the make-up reflected this.  We went backstage to get an interview with make-up artist, Polly Osmond and hair stylist Alain Pichon on how to achieve the complete look.

Sponsored by L’Oreal cosmetics, the face was very clean and natural with icy, white eyes. To get an even skin tone with a very natural and soft appearance, the L’Oreal’s Studio Secrets foundation was used, while Studio Secrets white eyeliner was used inside and around the upper and lower eyelids. For the mascara, the white of the double extension renewal was used and then the cheeks were highlighted with white eye shadow. The look is finished off with a very pale lip-gloss; the white just gives it a little bit of an edge.

Alain Pichon, the head hair stylist, describes the inspiration of the hair as derived from the many textiles used in the clothing, from shiny to matte. He wanted to add another texture with the hair.

“To achieve this look, you must weave the hair using the double barrel tongs and twist it, creating a zigzag pattern on the head. Then pin it into place and let it cool. All you have to do next is brush the hair out, but you must remember to work section by section, brushing it always from the ends to the roots, to create more texture and movement. When brushing, lift the hair and let it fall, creating a very romantic look with extreme volume. The entire look is fresh, feminine and romantic.”
