Debbie Thomas

You know you’ve had a dramatic facial when people who know you well are staring at you thinking has she had work done. After my SkinCeuticals facial with Debbie Thomas at Hari’s I looked lifted, polished and smoothed and went to dinner without any make-up, despite the fact it was a fairly intensive facial.

Debbie Thomas has the air of someone who is ultra competent and experienced. She is a woman without self-doubt or hesitation. Her emporium on Brompton Road is not in her words ‘namby pamby.’ It’s a place where a team of experts in their field have been put together and they use what they consider to be the most effective products.

The SkinCeuticals range is up there with some pioneering stuff. The facial I had was called Delicate Skin Repair and Strengthening Treatment. ‘Just because it’s for sensitive skin it doesn’t mean to say I’m not going to do the work.’ And work hard she did.

First of all there was some ultra cleansing and the SM peel. Hydroxy acids penetrate the epidermis removing the out layers of dead skin. No need to exfoliate for a week.

A facial massage is incorporated with anti-inflammatory cucumber and thyme. Then Red Light Therapy begins, which is designed to enhance the treatment. Published medical trials note improved results when the Red Light is introduced twice.

The AOX+ Eye Gel and the Phloretin CF gel are applied alongside and after the first Red Light Therapy. They are designed to dispel any free radicals.

A vitamin C mask is then applied. It’s an extremely tight mask. You feel Egyptian mummified for a while back there.

It is scrubbed off with a NovaSonic sound wave machine which is designed to revive cell tissue and help skin metabolism. It sounds like a high energy floor polisher and feels like one too. Not painful, but very attentive.

Puffy eyes were polished away. The whole process was amazing and I remain a huge fan of the SkinCeuticals clever range. The Phloretin CF Gel is a must have for diminishing pigmentation. The AOX+ Eye Gel is a great eye treatment.

Debbie Thomas didn’t know it but I went into the facial after a week of no more than three hours sleep. I came out looking as if I had just had a holiday.

The SkinCeuticals Delicate Repair & Strengthening Treatment by Debbie Thomas from £135.

The Debbie Thomas Collective is based in Hari’s, 305, Brompton Road, London, SW3 2DY,
