I was intrigued by Stemcell Oxygen Therapy range by Skin Design London because of its tag line, ‘An apple a day keeps the doctor away.’ The oldest health trick in the book can be applied directly to your skin.
I love anything where nature meets science and the Stemcell Oxygen Therapy Serum (£85.00) uses plant cells that have been extracted from a rare Swiss apple tree which apparently has super extraordinary longevity. The plant extract has been shown to lessen the appearance of wrinkles, delay ageing and keep skin glowing.
I have a cupboard full of serums, some of which are lovely and some of which aren’t. This serum tingles as it goes on to the skin. You feel it doing something and it’s particularly good for sun damaged skin with uneven skin tone. It contains Vitamin C, resveratrol and turmeric.
Turmeric is a wonder ingredient. I juice turmeric most days because it’s anti-ageing and anti-inflammatory and very few people in India have Alzheimer’s. This is believed to be because of the anti inflammatory powers of turmeric which is in almost every Indian dish.
The serum seems also to provide an instant tightening quality which is an unexpected extra. I also like things that work quickly and after about a week I noticed an evening of the skin tone.
But better than that, if you’re feeling tired and slack jawed the stem cell serum is an instant facial pick me up. It’s sleep in a bottle because you look like you’ve woken fresh from restful slumber even when you haven’t.
