K By Beverley Knight Launches in September
Beverley Knight the British soul star is set to have her first foray into the world of beauty. She will launch her first cosmetics range, K By Beverley Knight on the 17th of September. The brand is entirely unique and will address all the issues many women face when choosing make-up for darker skin tones.
We hear the collection will be available to buy exclusively from Selfridges for the first month and will roll out to other retailers in October.
The range includes 15 products in a whopping 78 shades all addressing specific skin needs, from oil-free foundations through to eyeliners and highlighters, the collection promises to be both affordable and chic.
Beverley decided to create her new range because she felt there was a real gap in the market for black and Asian skin: “Time and time again I would find myself looking for make-up that would work for my skin everything from bases to eye shadows and lipsticks. The choice was very limited and, like the vast majority of black and dark-skinned women, I found there wasn’t anything that provided the full spectrum of colours I needed. I was so excited to be offered the chance to work on my own range of products, introducing a home-grown brand which caters to all tones of black and Asian skin.” Beverley explained.
Over to you readers will you be buying K By Beverley Knight?

I think it’s fantastic that she’s focusing on a line for black and Asian skins! Many times they are overlooked! Kudos!

Another new company that does make up for dark skin tones is Orissa Cosmetics; all products are hand made using natural minerals.

Out of curiosity (I have bought Mac, Prescriptives…basically the whole lot!!!) I tried the foundation at Selfridges and was incredibly surprised by the results – so much so that I had to buy one. It’s amazing! Fantastic coverage and really natural looking.
I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who like me, has spent hundreds on trying to find the right foundation.

great to hear another company is doing make up for darker skin tones with a broader range of colours. I have spent a lot of money over the years trying to find the right shade – so very reluctant to order over the net and without trying it first. Selfridges only! When is it going to be available in Newcastle upon Tyne?
