In part 2 of our guide we share with you our top credit crunching beauty tips. Why not try a mashed banana face┬ámask? Read on to find out more…

6. Face mask – Mashed bananas
Bananas are full of vitamins and minerals that will help to soften and rejuvenate your skin. Mash 2-3 bananas with 2 tablespoons of honey and apply to your face. Lie back and enjoy the cool, smooth sensation for 10 minutes before washing off with warm water. Your skin will feel supple and revitalised…hurrah!

7. Tip – Tinted Lip Balm
When the sun’s out your make up bag is one of the first things that starts to suffer. Our advice? Take out anything that’s prone to melt and get back to basics. Lose the lipsticks and glosses and instead use tinted lip balm. It’s more melt resistant and lasts much longer.

8. Tip – Gradual Self Tan for the face
Foundation is the last thing you want on your skin in the heat. It feels mask like and will slide off your face as the day goes on. To ensure your visage has even tone and coverage why not try a gradual self tanner for the face? It will give your skin a light glow and reduces the need for foundation. See Jennifer Aniston for inspiration.

9. Tip – Olive Oil for heels
We all suffer from the occasional cracked heel but when the weather’s hot and you’ve got your sandals on, there is nothing more unsightly than hard skin. Slather on a generous amount of olive oil, slip on some socks, shut your eyes for eight hours and wake up to smooth, soft soles.

10. Tip – Tights to remove stubborn nail colour
If you’ve been wearing dark coloured polish, you’ve got the unenviable task of removing it as soon as it begins to chip. Cotton wool pads are prone to leaving fibres all over the nail and you’re often left with polish residue which is dificult to remove. Instead, cut up your old tights into little squares and use these instead. You’ll be amazed at how easy it is to remove the polish simply by using a dose of nail polish remover and a small amount of elbow grease.
