Cate Blanchett - Get The Look

Cate Blanchett is probably most famous for her roles as the English Queen in Elizabeth (where she won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama) and as Elf Queen Galadriel in the ‘Lord Of The Rings’ trilogy. However this year, she’s adding to her blockbuster royalty roster as she stars as Marion Loxley in Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood, alongside Russell Crowe.

Her ethereal beauty is enviable to say the least, so I thought I’d give you a few tips on how to get one of my favourite Blanchett looks.

The key to this look is structure. Cate’s got great bone structure but that’s not a pre-requisite as you can create this illusion.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

Start by concealing and applying a good matte foundation to give you a flawless base. I’d recommend the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation as it gives a great natural coverage. You can also take a highlighting base at this point and mix it with a dab of foundation, focussing on the upper cheekbone areas, taking it towards your ears.

With your base done dust over the t-zone with a loose powder, take a subtle bronzing powder and contour the face with an angle brush. Shade underneath your cheekbones, taking the colour around your temple and across the forehead. If, like Cate, you’re very pale, be sure not to use too much bronzer as the contrast between the colour and skin tone will look out of place.

Finally take a peachy blush and dust lightly over the apple of your cheeks, finishing it off by taking a large, soft brush and making sure the base is thoroughly blended.
