With her English rose porcelain skin and fresh faced approach to beauty Kate Beckinsale is one of those classic Hollywood beauties. The London born actress is best known for her role as Evelyn Johnson in the Blockbuster Pearl Harbour. Kate returns to the big screen in thriller Whiteout as U.S. Marshal Carrie Stetko. The film follows Steko who is assigned to Antarctica to investigate a mysterious murder within three days before the Antarctic winter begins. As she continues her investigation she uncovers a shocking discovery. This chilling thriller is out on general release today.

We asked our regular celebrity make-up artist Lindsey Poole to create a high glamour look. She gave us a few insider tips on how to recreate Kate’s luminous look at home. Notepads at the ready ladies…

Step 1 – Face: Kate’s look is inspired by a very classic Chanel look with dark eyes and clean skin. To get Kate’s clear complexion Lindsey recommends using a semi matte foundation such as Chanel Pro Lumiere. “Apply using a make-up brush, brushing downwards and past jaw line and onto neck to insure even coverage. Use a smaller brush to apply concealer to under eye circles and blemishes”. Try Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage. Finish base with a dusting of a light translucent powder, we suggest Mat Finish Libre by Lancome.

Step 2: Brush eyebrows through with an old mascara wand then fill in any gaps with a matte light brown eyeshadow. Using an angled brush apply with upward strokes.

Step 3 Eyes: Kate’s classic smokey eye can be recreated by covering the entire lid to brow with a subtle highlighter shade such as Bourjois Beige Rose.

Step 4: Apply a silvery metallic shade such as  Bobbi Brown’s Shimmer Wash Eyeshadow in Fawn underneath the lower lash line and inner corner of eye. Applying a shimmery shade into the inner corner will create an instant brightening effect.

Step 5: Using a socket brush apply a metallic black shadow from the upper outer lash line up and across the socket line fading the colour into the silver shadow. Concentrate the colour on the outer edge of the eye blending inwards. With a smaller brush apply the same colour from the outer edge of the eye along the bottom lash line. Build up colour gradually tapping off any excess before applying to eye to prevent any fall out.

Step 6: Apply a black kohl pencil along top and bottom lash line to increase intensity. Finish with 2 coats of black mascara top and bottom, I like Diorshow the big bristled brush coats lashes evenly without clumping.

Step 7: With such dramatic eyes, keep cheeks and lips light and natural. Apply a pink blush such as Pink Swoon by MAC to apples of the cheeks and finish with a slick of pinky gloss such as Rose Idyllic from Bourjois.
