Sandra Bullock - Get The Look

We’re a big fan of Miss Bullock’s look for the Oscars this year and because of this, we thought we’d let you in on how we think she did it.

Sandra’s always got pretty flawless skin, but you can achieve this finish by using a priming base, such as Laura Mercier Foundation Primer, under a fresh and natural foundation. I love Myface.cosmetics MyMix foundations for this type of look, they leave a lovely dewy finish on their own but can be ‘matted’ by applying a good loose powder… which is especially important if you’re going to be papped under bright lights!

She’s chosen a neutral palette for her skin as she’s got statement lips so, other than a flawless base, the only thing left to do is to pop on a bit of rosy blusher. The easiest way to do this is by smiling and gently blending in the colour in a tick shape from the apple of your cheek towards your ear, with an angled brush for precision. I’d recommend Lancome’s Blush Subtil in Pink Flash for this look.

Again, simplicity is key here. A light-reflecting under-eye concealer could be used if you need it but the big MUST is mascara. Big lashes with minimal eye colour look great with a statement lip, so invest in a fab, thickening mascara such as DiorShow Blackout. Then dab an illuminating shimmer in the corners of your eyes to make them stand out and, if you prefer a slightly more sultry look, apply some black eye liner to the outer corners.

Creme de Brilliance - Caprice

Clearly the most important aspect of this look, Sandra has chosen very well for her skin tone. Opting to steer clear of the standard red tones, she’s gone for a more rose coloured lippy (which looks great when team with the matching blusher hue). The product she’s used has a lovely pretty sheen to it, without making her look like a Barbie, and if you’d like to recreate this look I’d recommend nipping down to a MAC counter and matching a good pink to your skin tone, or Lancome’s new Creme De Brilliance in Caprice for a slightly redder, glossier tone.
