Givenchy Starry Loose Powder

Here’s a makeup collection loaded with some serious sparkle! Just in time for the onset of Autumn/Winter 2011, Givenchy Le Makeup is releasing its Christmas Collection called ‘Nuit Celeste.’

The Nuit Celeste collection is a mix of pearlescent eye shadows, lip colours, a face powder, and nail polish. Artistic Director of Givenchy Le Makeup, Nicolas Degennes, pulled inspiration from the colours and glow of the night sky, moon, and stars, resulting in a the collection that plays with the iridescence of light and darkness.

At first glance L’Or Céleste may be mistaken for a perfume, but the elegant glass bottle with puff is actually filled with a golden loose powder that can be used on the face, body, and even the hair for a shimmery glow. Make sure you apply to well moisturised skin for the best effect.

Then we have L’Ombre Noire, a jet-black multi-purpose shadow for the eyes that can be used as an eye liner, kohl, or mascara. Included with the shadow are three brushes for this variety in usage, and the colour may be applied wet or dry depending on the desired intensity. It’s perfect for a party smoky eye and has a wax base so won’t budge.

A Christmas makeup collection would not be complete without eye glitter, so Givenchy’s Phenomen’Eyes is packed with just that. The eyelash glitter comes in nº6 Gold Sparkles and nº8 Plum Sparkles to amp up bare or mascara-covered lashes and to bring a lovely twinkle to the eyes. Apply Le Prisme Yeux Mono in the golden Or Céleste noº2 shade over lids for even more sparkle, or layer it over the L’Ombre Noire shadow for an intensely rich look.

For the lips, Givenchy has created Rouge Interdit and Gelée d’Interdit, a creamy lipstick and nourishing gloss. The lipstick shade, Rouge Céleste in nº53, is the most gorgeous, deep crimson colour perfect for a dramatic, holiday party look. The Gelée d’Interdit in Celestial Black nº2 is a black gloss with rainbow micro glitter. Don’t worry, it’s not as scary as it may sound. It’s sheer enough to not be too overwhelming, and looks like it would be really cool layered over the Rouge Interdit. This is Givenchy’s first wax free gloss, but the brand promises that it’s still incredibly balm-like and nourishing.

Lastly there’s a Vernis Please! in Noir Céleste nº176 is also a sparkly, pearlescent black shade that is guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser this holiday season. The sparkly aspect of the shade keeps the colour from being too dark for the joyful Christmas season, but at the same time, the black brings an edge to the polish that makes it a fun and unique colour to wear around the holiday.

This festive collection will be available exclusively at Harrods beginning October 1st, but will then become available nationwide on October 17th.
