Dolce & Gabbana Lace Collection

The box itself is black on black lace. Inside it is lined in velvet, it feels Victorian, gothic. Lying in repose is the Black Lace mascara looking like Ophelia lying in blackness.

The lace on the outside is impressive, but not as impressive as the black lace intense mascara itself. I’m a big fan of Dolce & Gabbana’s Secret Eyes but the Intense Eyes is even better.

I’m very particular about mascara. I have thin, spindly lashes that are so weak they can’t even hold up a coat of most mascaras. Intense Eyes with its ultramarine pigments and deep dense colour and giant fat brush that separates the lashes is a wonder to behold.

It is silky, volumising to the max and not smudgy. One coat lasts well and makes you look wide awake, powerful.

The mascara was developed in collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana’s adviser to all things make-up, Pat McGrath. The lace range is very impressive and beautiful. Says Domenico Dolce, ‘The eyes are a channel to the heart and soul.’

If so, mascara is the key to opening that channel. The Black Lace mascara manages to be delicate as well as intense and gives that eyes wide open look.

Dolce & Gabbana IntensEyes Black Intensity Mascara is £25 and available at Harrods
