Having appeared in films such as Tron: Legacy, Alpha Dog and Year One and with a longstanding part as Number 13 in the acclaimed medical drama, House (alongside Hugh Laurie), Olivia Wilde’s career is going from strength to strength. However it’s showing no signs on stopping as she is currently in the brand new action thriller, The Next Three Days, alongside acting maestros Russell Crowe, Liam Neeson and Elizabeth Banks.

They were all out in force for the premiere of the film last year in New York and we loved her look so much we thought we’d let you in on how she got it…

Hair:

Do this first so the style can set as your do your makeup. Get a wide barrel heated curler and after you’ve curled each section, wrap it around a large roller and pin it up. Once you done your whole head, mist some hairspray over the rollers and leave until later.

Face:

Olivia is unashamedly fair skinned so doesn’t go too heavy on the bronzer. Start with clean, moisturised skin and apply a light dewy foundation such as Myface.cosmetics MyMix to achieve and even and glowing look. Next take a few dabs of a pearly highlighter (such as Benefit’s Highbeam) to the tops of your cheekbones and blend towards your temples evenly. Then take a super soft and fine-haired blusher brush and apply a peachy/orange blush (we love Nars Sex Appeal) to the apples of your cheek. Finally, dust over your look with a finishing powder such as the divine Jurlique Rose Silk Loose Finishing Powder to set and mattify.

Eyes:

Olivia’s gone for a gold/copper metallic look and it really makes her blue/green eyes pop. She’s taken the copper tone out toward her outerbrow under her lower lashes. She’s then got a highly pigmented pale gold and filled in the rest of her lid and under the inner lower lash line. The trick here is to apply relatively heavily and then take a really good belnding brush and blend the two tones in thoroughly. Once you’ve got the shadow done, take a black or very dark brown kohl pencil and line your inner eye to really make your eyes stand out. Finally whack on some super mascara  and you’re good to go (I recently used the 17 Wild Curls mascara and was very impressed).

Lips:

We’re loving the peach with the look although for our GTL we’re going to tone it down a bit with a gloss so as not to detract from your eyes. First exfoliate your lips by applying Vaseline, leaving for a few minutes then brushing off with your toothbrush. Then take Clinique Vitamin C Lip Smoothie in Guava Good and apply all over.

Finally take out your roller, finish off with some firm hold hair spray and gentle tease through your curls and you’re red-carpet ready!
