If you’re skin in dehydrated and suffering from the cold days and central heating, then why not try the Vaseline Restore Intensive Range which has a number of products that have been designed to hydrate your skin.

Plus, if lathering on cream isn’t enough for you, Vaseline’s Technical Expert, Atoshi Ghosal, has given us a fab list of things to do to keep our moisture levels nice and high.

1. Drink at least eight glasses of water a day to keep your skin well hydrated. It is also good to eat a high-quality diet rich in fruits, vegetables, oily fish, nuts, seeds and limit sun exposure.

2. Washing can make your skin drier. Wash your face no more than twice a day with a gentle cleanser and take short baths or showers…

3. Pat your skin dry after washing. Avoid rubbing yourself dry with a towel, which can whisk away the skin’s natural moisture barrier needed to keep your skin healthy during the cold winter months.

4. Apply a good moisturiser while your skin is still damp. Choose one that contains ingredients that attract moisture to skin (humectants) and lock it in (occlusives), for example Vaseline Moisture Locking Body Lotion Lightly Fragranced. It has a formula that is lightly fragranced and delivers the moisture to help your skin fight back against dryness.

6. Aim for a comfortable level of humidity in your home or office. Too much heat or air-conditioning can rob your skin of moisture.

Here at BATD HQ we’re loving the sound of Vaseline Intensive Rescue Moisture Locking Cream (200ml, RRP £3.99) as it apparently locks in 2x more moisture than E45 cream!
