Why do you use Revlon?
I have used Revlon for many years now. In fact, the very first item of make-up I ever owned was a Revlon blush that my mother gave me to cheer me up one day (I am fairly sure the cause of this involved a playground, a boy and some hair-pulling. The location may change as we grow up but the culprits don’t). And so I have always thought of Revlon cosmetics as my reassuring defence in a sometimes tough world, but also something to have fun with and which allows me to choose the way I present myself to that world.

What do you like about the world of beauty?
I have always been very involved in drama and the idea that you can slip into a costume and become an entirely different person was one that, at times, I felt hugely excited by. And I look at make-up the same way. There are so many different sides to my personality and experimenting with make-up has always been a way for me to portray those various aspects to the world, depending on what mood I happened to be in at the time. So I essentially see the world of beauty as a vehicle for self-expression, while occasionally presenting the opportunity to be someone entirely different for a while.

Who is your beauty icon?
I am currently obsessed, style-wise, with all things 1940’s. I just love the way those classic Hollywood actresses exuded glamour and elegance in everything they did. They had an undeniable awareness of their feminine beauty but also a sense of strength and intelligence. Stars like Rita Hayworth and Lauren Bacall epitomise this version of beauty for me, but I would have to say that my ultimate beauty icon would have to be Grace Kelly. She was just a timeless beauty that absolutely defined simple, natural elegance. She just always made it look so effortless and easy!

What colours will you be trying this Autumn/Winter?
I know that with Chanel’s current resurgence black and white are going to be key looks for a while but one of this summer’s revelations for me has been bright, bold colour blocking and I am not quite ready to give that up. I have absolutely fallen in love with colour and I adore pairing colours that are normally considered clashing, like orange and fuchsia or scarlet and turquoise, to make a really bold statement. And I think bright lips are a really great, easy way to do this. So I think I will be taking the traditional autumnal palette of red/orange/gold and turning it up a notch this year.

What new products have you been most excited about recently?
I can honestly say I have been most excited by Revlon’s Colorstay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick, and not only for the fantastic opportunities that it has presented me with! I really hope I get all the other shades as part of my prize because I just cannot wait to try them all out. I had so much fun just in one day- can you imagine how exciting it will be to reinvent myself 10 different ways?!
