Cicaplast (from La Roche Posay) is fast becoming a cult product. Used by dermatologists to heal skin after minor cosmetic procedures, us regular folk are only just cottoning on to how brilliant this multi-purpose stuff really is! I’ve seen makeup artists use this as a face primer on models with raw, stripped skin after weeks of having makeup spackled on and washed off several times a day.

How to use it: Massage a thin layer over your face or patches of skin two to three times a day.

La Roche Posay Cicaplast

An affordable cult product - score!

Pros:

- It’s a non sticky, non greasy silicone-based gel. Very light on the skin.

- It contains high levels of skin repairing ingredients, this is perfect to apply to any damaged patches of skin immediately after the damage. Surgery/injury scar? Apply a bit of this on it twice a day to accelarate healing. Same goes for acne scars or grazes on the skin.

- It also works incredibly well on dry patches as well as generally raw/stripped skin. Great for winter, sunburns, skiers and those using harsh products like Retin-A or acne treatments.

- Perfect at repairing skin that’s had a bad reaction to products.

- All that epidermal repair helps keep skin looking young too!

Cons: Not a con but bear in mind this is a skin healing product. That means it won’t fade any exisiting scars you have but it’ll help fresh ones to heal properly and faster. Hopefully with this they won’t form into permanent, visible scars in the first place.

Overall, this is just a great product to have in the house for skincare emergencies. Buy one and stick it in your medicine cabinet. It’s just a really good, skin healing moisturiser. One of the best!
