As the owner of an envy-inducing (or so I’ve been told) number of lashes it’s fair to say that of all the beauty offerings that come my way mascara wands simply do not get me anywhere near as excited as say, a gleaming skin finisher or brand-new super serum can. That’s not to say that I’m oblivious to the transformative power of a lash lacquer or its eye-opening abilities. It’s simply that I prefer the ease of a bi-annual lash-lift and tint (Jinny Lash and Blink Brow Bars) than a daily battle with tubes of thickening, volumising and lengthening goop.
So my reaction to Max Factor’s LashFinity 3 Day Mascara has come as a surprise. After overcoming my initial ‘dirty stop-out’ associations (failing to remove makeup is a skin sin in my book if ever there was one), there’s actually something rather enticing about the revolutionary new long-wear “life-proof” mascara. Mainly because, rather than imparting a full-on lash look, Max Factor’s advanced ‘lash tint’ technology subtly enhances eyelashes adding a little extra length and a coating of high-patent black colour that, from beach to bathroom to bar, won’t rub, flake or fade for a whole 72 hours.
That’s a whole weekend worth of my favourite type of beauty – low-maintenance but high-polish.
And that in itself is worth the waiting list.
