Lyn Harris

Lyn Harris, the creative mind behind ultra lux fragrance house Miller Harris, has expanded her range of perfumes once again.  The perfumer extraordinaire has added Fleurs de Bois, a scent inspired by Lyn’s walks through Regent’s Park, to its wardrobe of fragrances.  It is the latest addition in the Ligne de Parfum collection, a range of wildly successful scents designed to accentuate the four Miller Harris “Classics”, citrus, floral, wood, and oriental.  As always, Miller Harris was dedicated to telling a story when they first began creating Fleurs de Bois.  No one explains the inspiration behind her imaginative range of fragrances better than Lyn herself.  “Life is a journey and I have added the pleasure of being able to share mine through my creations”, she says.  This iris, lemon, and birch infused fragrance evokes the freshness one associates with the blooming flowers and crisp, green grass of an English garden.  With Fleurs de Bois retailing around £50 a bottle, you can have your slice of life at quite the reasonable rate indeed!

And for all of you having trouble deciding which Miller Harris scent works best for you, why not give her Bespoke service some thought.  Miller Harris Bespoke perfumes are fragrances designed exclusively for you, an ongoing process that involves working closely with creator Lyn Harris.  The perfumer has been praised for her “unique expertise in matching scent to sensibility” for the Bespoke clientele.  The end product?  A fragrance perfectly suited for you (and one that only you can get your hands on!) in a personalised engraved bottle.  While the special service takes on only a limited amount of clients each year and will run you upwards of £8,000, a girl can still dream, right?!

On a more realistic note, Bespoke’s offshoot range of perfumes, the Nouvelle Edition, is a beautiful set of fragrances readily available to the average woman.  This collection is said to be Lyn’s most daring yet, ranging from the French tarragon, lavender, and oak moss infused “Le Petit Grain” to the Caribbean inspired “Piment des Baies.”  For $110 a pop, the scents from the Nouvelle Editon (seven in total) are an affordable option that will still get you the “ooh’s and aah’s” you’ve been looking for!

In other Miller Harris news, you’ll be happy to know that the Classics collection is now available in travel sizes.  No more discarding your precious perfume bottles at the wrath of airport security!  With the wonders of fragrance house Miller Harris hard to ignore, we’re sure we’ll see you perusing the selves in one of their London-based shops.  The only question is which one?  The first-ever Miller Harris boutique and home to Lyn’s laboratory on Needham Road or Mayfair’s Bruton Street shop, complete with an in-store tea room!  Decisions, decisions…
