How did you get started?
My education is in Forensic Science. I have a keen eye for detail and have loved anything with design and culture. Being of an Indian background surrounded by cultural events and a very cultural family, this excited me even more to pursue my creativity which developed into make-up and henna design as a hobby during university. The rest was being at the right place at the right time. I saw a niche in the market and pursued my interest to form a business.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
My career highlight is seeing my creativity come to life. It’s difficult to put down one as an example.
What advice can you offer when it comes to choosing the right foundation for darker skin tones?
Colour spectrum starts from fair to ebony, middle being olive. Select three tones, ranging from olive to ebony colours, the selected three tones should be close together in colours and similar to skin colour. Test the colours on the side of jaw line to match true to skin colour.
Hyper pigmentation and uneven skin tone can be problematic what products can we use to even out skin tone?
The long term solution would be to invest in the Glycolic Acid Peel Home Kit by Lancôme. The results are amazing but it does take up to a year to see a real difference which will last permanently.
For short term results I would suggest you try the Microdermabrasion Home Kit by Lancôme. With amazing instant results, skin looks flawless with an even tone and smooth finish. However the results are not permanent. Always ensure that you seek professional advice and read all the instructions thoroughly before using any of the above home kits. It’s also imperative to use an SPF before and after using any of the kits mentioned.
If you’re looking for a quick fix I would suggest for uneven skin tones a yellow/cream make-up base or yellow/cream colour corrector before applying foundation. For hyper pigmentation I would suggest a green make-up base or green colour corrector before applying foundation.
Last but not least no beauty cupboard should be without Bio Oil it’s the best and key secret behind uneven skin tone and pigmentation plus it keeps skin looking youthful. For long term permanent results use Bio Oil daily.
