Having recently worked with Lady GaGa on her tour, we have a feeling make-up artist to the stars, Cassie Lomas, has a fair few stories to tell. We caught up with her to find out what it’s like working closely with the A-list crowd and how to get the GaGa look.

How did you get started in the Industry?
I started make-up when I was 17 by doing a night course at college alongside studying for my A-levels. I pursued a Business Studies degree and used all my free time to do shoots and build up my portfolio. I had already been working in the modelling industry, so had a contact with an agency who eventually, once I had built up a nice selection of shots, started to give me testing work. I’d built up a good enough portfolio to get a London agent and started travelling for jobs. As soon as I finished my degree I moved to London and went to study make-up again at the London College of Fashion. I wanted to make sure that I knew everything there was to learn even though I had been working steadily for 4 years already. After a year I had a new agent and began constantly working and haven’t stopped! I never really intended for make-up to be my job but the Business degree has helped me understand the intricacies of being self employed.

Career highlight to date?
Besides getting to travel the world, my career highlight to date is getting the opportunity to work with Bourjois. I have always been a huge fan of their products so to now be a part of the team is amazing.

Tell us about your role at Bourjois, what does it involve?
I’m a spokesperson for the brand, so can often be seen at shows demonstrating key looks and also heading up a team of artists for catwalk shows. I’ve done a few TV appearances too!

You work with Lady GaGa, how has that been?
I particularly love working in the Music Industry as I get to travel, work backstage at all the award shows and see my work on the front cover of magazines like Billboard.

What tips and tricks do you use to create her look?
I always concentrate on getting a good flawless base and a strong contour. If you have great skin and cheekbones the rest of the make-up follows nicely.

What other celebrities have you worked with?
I’ve worked mainly with music clients and celebrities, after 10 years there are too many to mention.

Who haven’t you worked with yet that you’d love to get your brushes on?
I’d love to work with Lindsay Lohan, she has a great face.
