Next season will you be going for 80’s glam or keeping it simple with barely there nudes? Whatever your look, Cassis Lomas gives us top tips on how to work and wear this A/W’s beauty trends.

What are the key make-up trends for A/W 09?
There is a lot of inspiration taken from the natural environment. Lots of browns, greens and neutrals, but rich colours are also around this Autumn, too.

We know that the 80’s is a big trend on the high street and beauty counters – tell us your fave 80’s make-up look.
You can’t beat a hot pink lip.

On the catwalk at Missoni and Celine the models have very minimal make-up revolving around nudes, how can you get that flawless finish?
Preparation is key in creating a good base. Always make sure your skin is perfectly cleansed and moisturised before attempting to apply any make up.

Deep plum lips seem to be a hot look for next season. How can we make that trend wearable?
Apply the colour lightly to begin with and build until you have a depth that suits you and you feel comfortable wearing.

What are your top 5 products from the Bourjois A/W collection, and how do we wear them?
There are two gorgeous new eyeshadow shades in the A/W collection, one is an emerald green, the other a purpley brown. Team them with a fab mascara like the new Coup De Theatre 2 in 1 for luscious lashes. Keep skin looking flawless with Mineral Matte mousse foundation, which allows the skin to breathe. Nails are dark and sophisticated with a hint of green or brown.

When you are doing your own make up, what do you reach for?
I need longlasting key products that I can apply in the morning and rely on being there when I finish work. I always pencil in my brows to lift my eyes and get a nice shape. Waterproof mascara is essential and I love Bourjois’ Easy waterproof as it keeps lashes standing to attention all day, I never need worry about reapplying. I can’t go anywhere without a cheek colour so I always use Rouge Hi-tech as a stain so I have a nice contoured cheek. I always finish with a lip balm.

What are your top make-up tips we should all know?
Use a hydrating moisturiser to avoid all your make-up being soaked up by your skin.

Keep your eyebrows well groomed as it can take years off you.

Spend time doing your base and blend it well under the jaw and onto the neck. Using a brush helps the overall finish.

Suck your cheeks in to get a good contouring space to make the most of your cheekbones.

Always apply your concealer last and set it lightly with a dab of powder.

What is next for you?
I just enjoy making people look beautiful, and as long as I’m doing that I’ll be happy.
