We love catching a glimpse of every beauty related feature the stars are sporting on the red carpet during awards season. The likes of Adele and Zooey Deschanel keep us forever entertained with their nail art statements. But at this year’s Oscars, the look of the evening was overall a tad more refined. Nude is making a huge come back this year, and the Oscars proved it.

Best supporting actress winner Lupita Nyong’o and nominee Jennifer Lawrence’s nails were attended to by celebrity manicurist Deborah Lippmann. To contrast prettily against Lupita Nyong’o's pasted blue Prada gown, Deborah chose a shade from her own ‘Spring Reveries’ collection called ‘La Vie En Rose’ (£16.00), which erred on the pink side and had a slight shimmer.

For Jennifer, Deborah got customising. She mixed two of her own colours together, ‘Sarah Smile’ (£16.00) and ‘Tiny Dancer’ (£16.00) to form a classic nude pink that comprised just the right tones to perfectly compliment her scarlet Dior dress.

To seal both manicures, Deborah finished with the Gel Lab Top Coat, which added a high-shine gloss to the finished look.

It’s one of the most wearable and understated nail trends to make it big, and best of all? It’s so easy to get it right.
