NYFW Says No To Nail Art

In what appears to be a very obvious backlash to the all-singing all-dancing wrapped, embellished, studded and sparkling nails that have been flashed on every female fingertip for as many seasons back as we care to remember, the overarching trend from New York Fashion Week was for nude nails.
Yes, that’s right, the trend for mannequin manicures appears to be back.
Think foundation for your fingertips. Creamy, nude, shiny, bare and buffed. And the shape? Short, curved and totally natural.
And when it comes to nude nails, there’s only really one obvious choice of nail polish brand, and that’s Essie.
Backstage at the shows, nails at DKNY were lacquered with Essie’s barely-there beige Fed Up, at Carolina Herrera the more creamy Adore-a-Ball, and at Phillip Lim the subtle Broach The Subject was slicked onto models’ nails. Whilst at both the Thakoon and Diane von Furstenberg Essie’s Allure was the colour of choice. Keeping with the barely-there nail trend but straying from the Essie brand, Donna Karen plumped for a subtle nude by way of MAC’s Quiet Time and and Alexander Wang used a pale pink shade of Sally Hansen polish.

NYFW does not dictate what I wear or how I wear my nails and anything else!!!
