We’ve been keeping our eyes and ears open for the best eyeshadows that are available at the moment to get your hands on for this Christmas – and we have done the hard work; tried copious amounts of shadows on our eyes and selected through and picked out our favourites for you. We wanted to pick those that we felt made great Christmas gifts, as well as being super-wearable and perfect to get you anything from natural chic to party-ready this season; and obviously that’ll make you look amazing, of course.
Makeup Revolution
The Makeup Revolution New-trals Vs. Neutrals (£6.99) might at first glance scare you a little. But hear us out. Those reds and corals look a-mazing on; especially anyone with green or hazel eyes. There’s still lots of really safe and neutral shades to pick from too if you’re feeling a little more subtle, alongside a nice little brush in there too… so for THAT price, we’re hooked.
Dolce & Gabbana
The Perfect Mono Cream Eye Colours (£25) from the Dolce & Gabbana Essence of Holiday collection have new colours for the festive season, we got to sample the Pearl Dust 25 and Extreme Black 150. As far as cream eyeshadows go – D&G are our favourite. The texture is soft, and semi matte – which makes it act just the same as a dense shadow – with no falling, creasing and long-lasting colour on your eyes. Perfect.
Check out how to create the look I created using these D&G beauties; for the perfect after-work night out eyes..
Clarins
Charlotte Tilbury
We got to try out the Charlotte Tilbury Silver Leopard and Black Magic set (£29). We couldn’t resist this gorgeously sparkly shadow for night outs, we can see why it was named Hypnotise Eye Shadow as it is bound to grab anyone’s attention as it catches the light. Paired with the Iconic Liquid Eye Pencil that is so soft it glides on to give optimum coverage. It comes as a pearlescent sheen which compliments the shadow perfectly for a seductive look.
Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani
Urban Decay never fails to impress us with their pigmented shadows and when we heard that Gwen Stefani was working on her very own eye shadow palette we knew it was the perfect collaboration (£40). As well as featuring some daring colours, we thought this palette would make a perfect gift as it mostly features great wearable shades for anyone’s everyday makeup bag. Here is the full low-down on what we thought about the UD x Gwen palette in particular including two tutorials for eye looks we created using these gorgeous colours.
Bobbi Brown
We are lovers of Bobbi Brown products here and her sets just look harmonious; the carefully selected colours just ooze sophistication and you know you can’t go wrong with a palette like this one. The Greystone Eye Palette (£38) features 5 cool toned colours with a mirror and double-ended brush, making it a handbag essential. Go from day to night makeup with ease. Check out what Chrissy thought about the new Bobbi Brown Sterling Lights Collection…
DIOR
As well as being visually divine to look at, Dior 5 Couleurs Christmas Collection (£43) eyeshadow sets come in both gorgeous warm and cool tones to choose from. Featuring the good-old sponge applicators with a liner shaped one in there also; and a brush for blending too. A perfect all-in-one palette making gifting this absolutely fullproof.
