Want Clear Skin?

Spots are bad enough, but spots that take ages to heal and seem to leave a lasting scar are the worst. Mild to moderate acne now has a space age combatant in the form of red light therapy, which speeds up the healing process and reduces unsightly redness and inflammation. LMS Spotlights are easy to use and can now be carried in your handbag so you can get zapping anywhere you like!

How does it work?

Red light therapy using LEDs was originally developed for NASA and is a safe way for treating acne. When your skin develops a spot it becomes under stress and stressed skin builds up nitric oxide which, although naturally present in skin cells, can inhibit the skin’s natural healing ability. The red light forces out nitric oxide and stimulates the anti-oxidants which in turn speeds up the whole healing process.

Does it come in different sizes?

Yes and there are three sizes to chose from depending on how big your problem with spots is. LMS Spotlight 3 is ideal for a single spot and is small enough to be carried in a handbag. Price: £29.99. LMS Spotlight 8 is ideal for a few spots and is still small enough to fit into your handbag. Price £49.99. LMS Spotlight 24 is perfect to cover a larger skin area and is perfect for home use. Price: £69.99.

How quick is it to use?

Super fast. The light is held over the spot or spotty area for one minute, three times a day in the case of the two larger units and for three minutes three times a day for the LMS 3 as it emits less light - and that’s it.

But did it work?

We tested the LMS Spotlight 8 on a couple of pretty large premenstrual monsters and they really did seem to heal quickly without the normal ‘peeling’ which can happen with this type of spot and more traditional treatments. It was easy to do as it took such a short time and there wasn’t really very much to learn in terms of actually activating the light – simply turning it on was the most important skill needed. You’d have to have a regular problem with spots to justify the investment but it did work without any side effects.

LMS Spotlights are available online or in-store from Harrods.

Please note – these units can be used on children above the age of three but those under 12 need adult supervision. You shouldn’t use this type of therapy if you are pregnant and those with photosensitive epilepsy need to consult their doctor before they use it.
