Dean Street Townhouse

Dean Street Townhouse

I enjoyed a dinner at the Dean Street Townhouse on New Year’s Eve before shivering in heels along to the gloriously cosy Ivy Club for champagne at midnight, followed by Ruthie Henshall singing Happy Birthday  in the style of Marilyn Monroe to me at 12.20am. Luckily this only went on for a few lines, sweet though but just verging on creepy.  Diana Vickers went on to sing a version of Smile which was all very lovely and festive and a charming way to see in a new decade.

Now with the Ivy you just know what you are getting but it was my first visit to The Townhouse and I was really impressed, it felt so cosy in there I was instantly in love with the place and with Fish Fingers on the  menu for under a tenner they really are on to a winner. The layout of the ground floor dining room and long bar is perfect for secrecy and posing depending on your mood, hair or outfit. Gina from The Ivy and Scott’s runs a tight ship for bookings and the staff were lovely.

After having a good gossip about it with all my media friends who only go to the best places we all agreed we love it but the food just needs to get a bit better, but it’s not so bad we are staying away, we are just waiting patiently for perfection, is that too much to ask?

When Soho House style merges with Caprice Holdings to be honest I expect nothing short of perfect actually, because the Soho House group rarely stray from cool their only let down can be surly staff but this time they have Caprice Holdings to ensure that doesn’t happen.

I expect to breakfast, lunch and dine there often!
