The future’s bright (but not necessarily orange!) With catwalk colours showing bold, bold and bolder for spring, we find the most fabulous electric-rainbow make-up to shake your look awake.

Blue: A true aqua blue is one of those colours that just makes eyes pop! We love Revlon’s matte take on this gorgeous hue; go bold by sweeping over lids and lining with a thin brush under the eyes. Add loads of black mascara and the look is a show stopper. Revlon Matte Eyeshadow Venetian Blue, from 20th April, £4.99.

Pink: What’s not to love about this creamy pink from cult brand CARGO? Designed for CARGO by none other than Lindsay Lohan, it’s the first ever lipstick with packaging made from eco-technology derived corn. CARGO PlantLove Lipstick, £11.74 at selected branches of Sainsburys.

Coral: This peachy-pink polish from OPI ticks all the boxes for spring brights because it’s so wearable. It’s part of the very hot and lovely South Beach Collection; one of OPI’s best to date. OPI Party In My Cabana, £9.95 www.lenawhite.co.uk.

Red: The red ain’t dead it’s still a huge trend through spring and summer this year. Wear it with a hint of self tan for a St Tropez sophistication and keep eyes to a minimum with just a slick of lengthening black mascara. 3 Custom Colour Lipstick in Ballet Russe, £14 www.cultbeauty.co.uk

Yellow: Yellow liner looks amazing on black skin tones and excitingly different mixed with teal or blue spectrum eye shadows. These waterproof gel eyeliners (shown here in Zest and Smitten) from Sleek Make Up should be applied with a steady hand for long lasting shots of chic acid. Sleek Ink Pot Waterproof Gel Eyeliner £3.91, www.superdrug.com.

Lime: Acid limes are really hard to wear, especially if your skin is naturally pale; after all, nobody wants to look green-tinged. This gentler version from Sisley is flattering and wearable with a sheeny finish that’s everything pretty. Sisley Anis Eyeshadow, £23, counters nationwide.

Violet: This bold shade (shown front) from Revlons Matte Collection makes eyes look intense and vibrant; the liner is butter soft and can be used on the inner rims as well as lined around the outer lids. Revlon Very Violet Luxurious Kohl Liner, £6.99 (From 20th April).
