Stila for Matthew Williamson

Faberge eggs are popping up all over London as part of a massive Easter Egg hunt, they’re also the main inspiration behind Matthew Williamson‘s rich and sparkly collection for Autumn/Winter 2012.

Bejewelled necklines, sequins and feathers need setting off with some pretty special make-up looks that complemented rather than clashed “We decided, as we always do – less is more. The main thing is that the girl’s own beauty comes through. We wanted the make-up to be very soft matte with a subtle sheen.” said Matthew Williamson of this highly credited show.

Stila make-up

Sarah Lucero, Creative Director of Global Artistry at Stila Cosmetics, created a look that was clean and soft, “this season the
fabrics are so rich that the vivid clothes speak for themselves,” said Sarah doing the make-up backstage at
Covent Garden’s beautiful Royal Opera House. “That is why we decided to keep the make-up fresh, it is a
celebration of youth.”
We love this look as it’s so easy to wear – here’s what they used to create this healthy, flawless base. Sarah first applied Stila’s Stay All Day 10-in-1 HD Beauty Balm and used Stila’s Perfecting Concealer, £15.00, to conceal where needed. A touch of Stila’s Brighten & Correct Concealer, £18.00, was applied under the eyes – these were then “locked-in place” with a little of
Stila’s Hydrating Finishing Powder, £21.00. Once the base had been applied Sarah applied a subtle touch of colour with Stila
Convertible Cheek Color in Camellia, £16.00, which she rubbed between her forefinger and thumb to warm
slightly, before applying to the contours of the face and above the cheek’s apple. The same colour was then
dabbed onto the lips to create pout.
A well-defined brow what then added  “The Matthew Williamson girl is totally
global and modern. One of the key make-up aspects of the show is a beautiful natural look, which is all about the
brow,” said Sarah. Brows were defined by applying the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Brow Colour,
£13.50, in upward motions.
