Lotus Blossom and Water Lily

Lotus Blossom and Water Lily

While searching for the prefect summer scent, it hit me that summer is still quite some way off. Surely we should be embracing spring rather than just discarding the season like last year’s Jimmy Choo’s. When I think of spring I think of crisp soft floral scents with a hint of warmth.  Well it seems Jo Malone have hit the nail on the head with the release of their Kohdo Wood Collection.  Split into two fragrances, night and day they have covered all bases, the slight hitch is that you will want to buy it all (just make sure you hide the credit card bill)

Fresh, delicately floral and light the Lotus Blossom and Water Lily, is Malone’s offering for a daytime fragrance. The scent nicely side steps that sickly sweets landmine by including top notes of zesty mandarin, which cleverly cuts through the Lily and Lotus Blossom. Say goodbye to bleary eyed mornings, once you’ve stirred jump into the shower and lather up with the scented shower gel. One final spritz before you step out the door and you’ll feel fresh and energized all day.

Dark Amber and Ginger Lily

Dark Amber and Ginger Lily

For night Malone offers us the sensuously spicy Dark Amber and Ginger Lily. This is the perfect transition fragrance from spring to summer. It has floral notes courtesy of the Water Lily and Orchid but also a real warmth from the base notes of black amber and sandalwood. The perfect scent for a chilly spring evening, curl up on the sofa with a blanket and light a candle for a true fragrance sensation.
