Play it safe!

We all know it’s incredibly important to protect your skin when it’s sunny outside but when it comes to sunscreen there’s usually a trade-off between high protection and cosmetic elegance.

That means the higher the sun protection you wear, the more difficult it becomes to apply makeup on top.

Well we’ve scoured our beauty shelves during this recent sunny-spell to showcase two fabulous sunscreens that provide brilliant protection and play nice with makeup.

“A  brand new lightweight, non-greasy lotion with SPF 30 and PA +++ that absorbs instantly into skin. Powerful ingredients provide UVA (ageing) and UVB (burning) protection while helping to repair the skin barrier, offering treatment and protection in one cream.”

This sunscreen is light, smells gorgeous and provides just a touch of moisture to quench the skin without leaving it looking oily. The best bit? It contains a large amount of niacin which both repairs and corrects all the nasty-bits we associate with sun exposure: skin damage, hyperpigmentation and premature ageing. After a week of using this – my skin definitely looked a lot clearer and even in tone (less redness) which is astonishing!

“This sun cream benefits form a new, exclusive filtering system for reinforced skin protection. Moreover, anti-oxidant spices and a cactus fig extract help repair the appearance of visible signs of skin aging. This care with aqua-milky texture ensures a reinforced protection for sun-sensitive and sun-intolerant skins.”

This sunscreen applies beautifully. It’s light and, again, it provides both sun protection and repair but this time in an ultra gentle formula for the most sensitive skin.

It’s moisturising, dries to a barely-there finish and best of all it doesn’t leave a white-cast - not even on dark skin.

There you have it, two fabulous reasons not to forgo your sun protection this summer! Which sunscreen will you be wearing?
