TBB: Baftas Get The Look

In the spirit of all things ‘awards season’ we’ve been compiling some fab get-the-looks with the amazing makeup artist, Kay Montano. We’ve already done Amy Adams and now we’re onto Thandie Newton!

You may have seen the exclusive behind the scenes footage of Thandie Newton getting ready for the Baftas on Beauty & The Dirt…

… Well here at TBB we’ve managed to get hold of the products that make-up artist Kay Montano used to created that gorgeous bronzed feline eye:

The face of Olay is quite naturally a fan of the brand she represents and so this look begins with Kay applying a light layer of Olay Total Effects Foundation.

Any pigmentation, blemishes and red patches were neutralised by Myface.cosmetics MyCover Concealer in Med/Dark 3. Kay used a brush to tickle on the concealer and then patted the product in lightly with her finger.

To remove any shine and to keep a perfect finish under the lights of the red carpet, Kay applied Illamasqua Loose Powder in LP23 with a powder brush along the T-zone (nb. Not on the cheeks!)

On the cheeks instead, Kay opted for a creme blusher (Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Pink Truffle) and applied it with a sponge… you can see this in the Beauty & The Dirt Video.

Using Chanel Taupe Grise Eyeshadow Kay lightly created a socket line with a long soft paint brush after smudging the top and bottom lash line with Myface.cosmetics high def eye pencil in brown. First definition was added to the eye using a black pencil (from Myface) and then a fine brush and Bobbi Brown Gel Liner in Ink Black. Kay created an optical illusion by dragging the liner outwards and upwards into a feline flick.

The brows were filled in with the wonderful MAC brow pencil in Taupe and a slick of Chanel Inimitable mascara was added a a final touch.

Thandie went for a fairly natural lip and for this Kay picked Myface Lip Pop Gloss in 136.
