Vintage style dressing tables are making a come-back and I’m determined to win the best-dressed boudoir by ensuring that nothing but the most stylish perfume bottles adorn my mirrored desk. With an avalanche of new scents hitting the shelves this summer, my senses are up to the challenge of testing what looks and smells the very best.

Chanel Beige
Given that ‘beige’ is now often used to describe a blah feeling, it’s brave of Chanel to give their latest fragrant offering that ‘meh’ moniker. But, as usual, if anyone can carry off a left-of-field launch, it’s Chanel. The fragrance is lightly floral, with notes of jasmine, frangipani and heliotrope, sweetened by honey notes. Reinvented for modern day olfactory tastes, Beige is anything but and the bottle is everything understated elegance.
£160, nationwide from July.

Following last year’s launch of Portofino, Dior is cornering the market in aspiration-destination scents. The latest offering is Escale à Pondichéry, conjuring spice laden Indian journeys. A blend of cardamom, black tea and sandalwood is lit with heady jasmine to make a sweet scent with a cologne sensation that’s perfect for the summer. The textured bottle is a gorgeous Dior print remix.
Selfridges, £46, nationwide from July.

The fruity-floral combination contained in this year’s must-have scent bottle comes complete with an aromatic fairy tale. Violet leaf, Italian lemons and wild raspberry give the fragrance sparkle, while rose, jasmine and sandalwood give it a fresh sweetness.  The aquamarine multi-facet bottle is delicate and stylish, and what kinda girl wouldn’t believe in the beautiful silver fairy?
Harrods, £32, nationwide from June 29th.
