Penhaligon's Indulgence Candle

Penhaligon's Indulgence Candle

Despite the fact that my mum boil-washed my best cashmere and thought making ‘minor’ alterations to my favourite circa 1985 Laura Ashley skirt (rendering it unwearable) was an act of kindness, I’m still pushing the boat out for Mother’s Day. While I’m not quite prepared to do the breakfast in bed thing or fashion up a home-made card, I do want to make sure she is really spoilt on her special day. Here are my top picks for pampering treats that mums will adore.

Penhaligon’s Thank Goodness For Tea Hypnotic Tea Candle:
Citrus, orange blossom, jasmine and rose cut with a twist of spiced woods have to be better than a bunch of flowers – especially as this jumbo candle has a burn time of 110 hours. It comes beautifully packed in a brightly coloured container; the very thing for keeping those oddities that mums can’t bear to throw away… buttons, ribbons, milk bottle tops……£85,

Michael Kors Glamorous Mother’s Day Set
Things don’t get much more glamour laden than Michael Kors, which is why this gorgeous set of Kors Eau de Toilette and Fabulous Body Lotion infused with spices and sensual tuberose, is perfect for upping the pampering style stakes. The buff, cream and gold box is beautiful enough to forgo any wrapping tissue, which is just as well, as she’d only save it to wrap your birthday present in. £46, 0870 034 2566.

Prescriptives Custom Blend Lipgloss

Prescriptives Custom Blend Lipgloss
I love the idea of a ‘bespoke’ gloss for my mum. Prescriptives are nothing short of genius at custom blending colours, and they’ll make it any flavour you want, from Tropical or Bellini to Latte or Meringue. The formula is infused with Vitamin E and plant based conditioners so whatever shade she chooses, her lips are plump and perfect. Just try and steer her away from ‘shrimp’ shades. £19.57, at selected House of Fraser stores: 0870 034 2566.

nude Skincare

nude Skincare

We have a great offer from nude skincare, could be a handy little gift for you or your Mum.  I’m a big fan of nude skincare, try and keep up with the science bit; it’s biocompatible, using high performance bioavailable ingredients to deliver results.

Naturally derived peptides, phytoactives and bioactives target the causes and signs of ageing to firm and smooth the skin. Potent antioxidants protect the skin against environmental damage.

The nude supplements are particularly good, I take their Advanced Multivitamin daily and if my skin is feeling dry I do a month of Hydrate. They all include supercritical herb extracts to optimize bioavailability, absorption and potency.
