The Beauty Hot List: BB Creams.

The Beauty Hot List: BB Creams.

It’s getting to that time of year again. The sun is out, the temperature is that little bit warmer, we’ve made it through January and February, and all of a sudden we’re shedding our hefty winter coats and ditching our fur-lined boots in favour of spring-ready ballet pumps. So why not lose a little bit of coverage too? Come on. Be brave. You’ll have no excuse after reading up on our five favourite BB creams this season after all.

Estee Lauder Double Wear

Estee Lauder Double Wear All-Day Glow BB Moisture Makeup (£29.00).

Estee Lauder’s Double Wear range is a staple amongst many women’s makeup accoutrements, and now they have taken the long-wear talents of the collection and used them in a brand new BB cream, which they have termed the Double Wear All-Day Glow BB Moisture Makeup (£29.00). It boasts SPF 30+ and skincare ingredients that nourish skin and provide a radiant and dewy complexion. The cream itself is light and even, and once applied, bares a healthy sheen and subtle colour that blends perfectly to highlight and brighten your natural complexion.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Cool BB Cream (£10.00).

The Body Shop Vitamin E Cool BB Cream (£10.00).

The Body Shop Vitamin E Cool BB Cream (£10.00) is perhaps the most fuss-free BB cream you can imagine. There is only one shade. Only one! No more colour matching, no more dithering about whether to go for the one with the rosy hint, or the one that’s a little more yellow looking. Nope. There is only one shade. The mousse-like texture blends in easily and evenly, and is so sheer that it adapts and takes on your own skin tone. It cools, refreshes and keeps skin hydrated for up to 12 hours.

Shiseido

Shiseido Perfect Hydrating BB Cream (£28.50).

Shiseido Perfect Hydrating BB Cream (£28.50) is a firm favourite with our Editor. Krista says that it has a ‘Really lovely consistency, it’s creamy and very easy to blend and rub in. It provides good coverage without feeling too heavy on the skin. It’s definitely one of my favourites’.

Nivea

Nivea Daily Essentials 5in1 Beautifying BB Moisturiser (£5.99).

The Nivea Daily Essentials 5in1 Beautifying BB Moisturiser (£5.99) is another favourite with Beauty And The Dirt’s Editor Krista who says that it is ‘Very light and creamy. This one is definitely for someone who prefers the lightness of a tinted moisturiser over foundation-type coverage. I use this one all the time, and its price is great’.

Vichy Idealia BB Cream

Vichy Idealia BB Cream SPF25 (£22.00)

The Vichy Idealia BB Cream SPF25 (£22.00) has within it ‘anti-grey’ technology that aims to brighten skin. The texture is silky and it feels hydrating and moisturising on application. The moisturising properties get to work over a period of 24 hours, and the finished look with leave you feeling refreshed and glowing. The light shade of this BB cream is a favourite of those with fair skin.
