Treatment of the Fortnight: Vaishaly Patel

Sometimes I dread a facial review, I have become very fussy when it comes to who touches my face. However I knew this facial was one to look forward too, as it was not only a Vaishaly Signature Holistic Facial, it was with Vaishaly herself. After gaining the reputation as London’s eyebrow queen she has quickly become one of the most sought after facialists too. Her own skincare range won the ‘The Sunday Times Style and Beauty Awards 2007.’ Is there no end to her beauty talents?

The hour long facial promises to leave skin glowing, relaxed and rejuvenated, just the thing for a relaxing Saturday morning, the perfect start to the weekend.

I took a walk to the infamous Marylebone Clinic, which was once a plain, old launderette. The team at Grand Designs would have been seriously challenged with this project. Vaishaly herself had to be convinced by her husband that this would be the perfect spot for her beauty rooms. It took six months of creative thinking and hard work to transform the place into the very chic and stylish clinic it is now. Behind the frosted glass and imposing private door is a peaceful, relaxing and tastefully designed beauty salon. A setting fit for its celebrity and loyal ladies that lunch and facial regularly, the four treatment rooms are booked ahead six weeks in advance

The rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable, with the perfect cushions and padding in all the right places so your body sinks weightlessly into the couch.

Signature facials are given to all clients, which starts with a full inspection of your skin and a chat about any skin worries you might have. That was my work over, time to switch off and enjoy the facial. Vaishaly started off with a deep cleanse, then used her own signature extraction tool, the only eye watering bit, but in a good way. A gentle form of microdermabrasion came next, this just removed the top layer of cells, revealing a smooth complexion to better absorb the products. Followed by a thoroughly relaxing massage including cranial to ease any tension you are holding in your face, with an emphasis on lymphatic drainage, and to increase blood flow, all leading to a better complexion. One of Vaishaly’s many insider tips, included advising me to use more oils, essential to feed the skin, they are purer then creams and have far less nasty chemicals.

As I drifted along in facial heaven, Vaishaly used high frequency, an electrical current that helps to tighten pores and get rid of excess oil on the skin. For the final bit of relaxation I had a lavender based mask applied, this smelt divine. After what seemed like an hour of undisturbed bliss I was brought back to reality, it was time to whip off the face mask, and to complete the session with a layer of her own day cream.

I reluctantly left the sanctuary of my treatment room, wishing I could check in for the whole weekend, but with Vaishaly having clients literally clambering over themselves to get a coveted appointment with the lady herself, there was no chance of that.

My skin looked fantastic and my face looked lifted and relaxed, these kinds of facials taken regularly are the way forward if you want to prevent the ageing process. Much better than botox, cheaper, more effective and heaps more relaxing!

An hour session with Vaishaly will set you back £125, which is money will spent for the fabulous facial, I would recommend you get on the waiting list for this one.

The products I took home to try are making their way to the front of my bathroom shelves, not only because they are very good but they look so stylish too. I’m considering my own Grand Designs makeover at home just to match the packaging!
